we've all been there. i spent a fortune on my (aborted) musicmaster project and now i'm selling the body to haze for Â£50! ...a moment of madness and all that.

the brass saddles don't fit though. unless you want to drill out the bridge to make them fit. or unless you're talking about those ones from that UK seller you posted a while back.

There are some brass comp saddles on eBay that are supposed to be specifically for shortscales.

I thought long and hard about them - but at $30 or whatever they were, I figured I'd spend the extra $40 and stay vintage correct.

can't remember what i posted, but if they're the ones i'm thinking of (i.e. the ones on my duo) then they should fit without any modifications.

Bought some F tuners on ebay last night for $34. Figured it was better than waiting around and its the cheapest i've seen them.

so all thats left is.... Neck plate and maybe some extra pickguard screws. TO THE CLASSIFIEDS
ah and 'Vintage Cream" and some nitro clear from reranch

dude, get an F neck plate from ebay, and get some pickguard screws from the same seller. here, lemme just do it for ya.

F tuners for $35? I just lost a set with a $55 bid last night (60s). I don't know how high I would have had to go against the other guy, but they weren't exactly what I was after for my Jag neck since the screw holes wouldn't line up.

Good deal at $35, though!

They were reissue schallers, the vintage ones I've tried have been flimsy but these schallers are great.

Tuners and neck plate came in today. The reissue F tuners apparently doesn't fit my neck. The holes need to be reamered out 1mm or so for the ferrules and the tuners to fit.
Of course things wouldn't fit though. If they did it would make things too easy

I picked up a set from WD for around $10 for a Musicmaster project I'm working on. They fit through the bridge holes without modification, but the saddles themselves don't actually contact each other - not sure if that would be important to you guys or not.

Anyway, here's a Link to the WD page.

And here's a picture of my Musicmaster with the bridge saddles installed. Much more work to come with this particular project, but I got antsy to use it on a recording session, so I tossed it together for a bit so I could:

The pickguard arrived today, as did the Musicmaster Bass bridge

. But no matter, its going back to sunny California and I'll be recieving the guitar bridge before too long. While i've got it i figured i'd document it as such. I suppose i'll do measurements on things like string spacing, mounting hole placement, length of intonation screws.... yeah

Here is the part i've been most excited about. The Pickguard.

Plenty of the usual warping, it'll be fine once its screwed into the body

this bit dates it to '77/'78

Pickup looks to be a '79

And i have no idea how to date the pots, i don't even know if this is the right number to go off of

its no "vintage cloth wiring" but it'll do!

I've also just realized that the jack is bent out of shape

I'll be damned, in all of my excitement i've just realized that i have a loaded BRONCO pickguard on my hands rather than a musicmaster... woe is me

I guess i'll be contacting someone about all this..... The bridge, I understand, it was listed as a Bass bridge but pictured a guitar bridge so it makes sense that they shipped what was probably only printed out as "musicmaster bass bridge"
This isn't too far off either, really its the same thing but a pickup is 6" lower

cost me 160 big ones my big friend.

I'm weighing my options here, i haven't contacted the seller yet about this as things may have gone in my favour

Do I exchange this for the Musicmaster pickguard that i originally intended?
OR DO I DO AN BRONCO AND JOIN MO RAWKA IN EPIC BRONCONESS!??!
