Anyone using a Swollen Pickle Mk II with an Orange Rocker 30
While the Way Huge Swollen Pickle Mk II pedal is undoubtedly awesome i'm having trouble making it sound great through my Rocker 30. I was wondering if anyone else has been using this combination and if they were having similar problems or not. To me it sounds really bassy through the amp and I don't seem to be able to get it have a nice biting trebly fuzz sound that I like. It has plenty of knobs, both inside and outside of the pedal, maybe I just need to set aside some quality tweaking time to get the sound I want.
I haven't used that particular combination, but I owned an Orange Rockerverb 50 for a few years and whilst I totally adored the amp, I never found that it took dirt pedals particularly well. Think it's something that many people have found with Oranges - at least from what I tell tell from their forum.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I don't really use fuzz, the pickle has been off my board for a while and I just thought I would put it back to see if I could find a use for it. I was going to sell it and a guy came round to buy another pedal and he tried it out and it sounded awesome, but that was through my amp I don't use for gigging, so I thought I would give it another go. If it isn't going to work live then i'll probably sell it and continue using the set up that i've been happy with for the last few months.

i sort of agree, i use a rocker 30 too.
are you using the pickle on its clean channel or on the gain channel.
usually i just use the clean channel for modulation fx delay, trem, pitch shifting, a bit of bass synth, mainly clean. and i've a booster pedal to dirty it up a little bit if i want.
dwarfcraft tgd fuzz, blue box, pitch shift on the gain channel (usually gain is wide open too).
clean channel is very bassy compared to the gain channel. i was playing it earlier and for a good stoner/sludge sort of sound i don't have the highs past noon and bass and mids almost maximum.

I use the dirty channel but like to put the gain up to just before there is noticeable break up, I think the problem is the boost of the fuzz mixing with the gain of the amp to add a very bassy sound. Are there any other fuzz pedals you can advise would work well with this amp? I'm going to try my Cool Cat Fuzz tomorrow.

I've just been tinkering and found that the Danelectro Cool Cat Fuzz sounds really great through the Rocker 30 so that has now replaced the Swollen Pickle. I was going to sell the Swollen Pickle a few weeks ago but changed my mind and thought i'd give it another go but now i've changed my mind again. It's an awesome pedal but it's sound doesn't work with my set up unfortunately, therefore it's going up for sale - the cash I raise will go most of the way towards a Made by Mike DLS/OCD.
