i almost bought this pt.2

Wow, what a great guitar. I didn't even plug this thing in and im still amazed by it. It LOOKS fantastic, such a nice grain of mahogany and the pasty neck looks great in contrast once you see one in person.

Just like the 50s CV, there wasn't a flaw on this thing. Great frets, great finish, amazing feel and very resonate. I forsee this AND the 50s in my future. Now if only i can get a hold of the '62 Custom

My locale store had both teles, The one with binding was definitely prettier. I still can't get over the pasty neck. I plugged the tele into the big muff, and it was amazing. If I ever make any money, im getting that guitar.

Isn't it amazing how well they can make a "cheap" guitar. I'm sure that price also leaves a good profit for Fender.

The company I work for now has the same parent company as Guitar Center so I can get these at cost. I'm nit sure if that will save money or not :3

I don't see a reason to pay for Fender's lazy "new" strata and teles when these Classic Vibes both play and look better.

When I played the 50s CV the oter night I also played a new '10 American standard, a Road Worn, a Joe Strummer and the new '72s all through the v22 Bugera. The Squier just had IT and at half the cost.

The prices aren't that much under MIM, but much better quality. That said, they aren't dirt cheap.

I know that place, 'The Music Store'. They always have a big selection on gear. I was in there last weekend playing that Elvis Costello Jazzy.

The Music Store is one of the ether shops in town. They're pretty and friendly and know their stuff. Lots of odd stuff too, plus they carry Behringer stomp boxes! I'd prefer to buy something like this from one of the smaller shops in town but I can get it much cheaper with my discout at the big box store

+1

I took a Jag in there last year for fret work and they did an amazing job, and VERY affordable.

If I wasn't building my own tele, I would buy one of these Squier Teles. I played the 50's tele at Guitar Center and it sounded good. Even liked the pine body. The input jack was very loose, but easily fixed. My CV duo sonic is still one of my favorites and really highlights how good these CV Squiers are. I am not a strat guy, but I may consider a CV strat down the road.

I'm not terribly picky about loose screws. I give everything a once over as soon as i get it anyways and take care of stuff like that. I WAS a bitg worried about the broken switch but thats something to due with shipping rather than quality control.

Not to derail this thread, but Haze which Hello Kitty guitar is that behind the telecaster? I am shopping for a Squier mini for my daughter and I know they used to make a pink Hello Kitty mini guitar in pink but I can't find one for her. From what I can see, that looks like one in the box. They want like $300 for them new, but I can buy the non Hello Kitty model for $99 in red or black. If I can't find an affordable pink one, I will just get her a red one.

Indeed it is. They have one that has pink dot inlays that I've played. I haven't seen a red or black one so I'm assuming they only have the pink ones. I remember when the prices went up from 100 to 270 or something. Exact same guitar! The hello kitty ones I've played were all comparable to the affinity strats I've played and own. The pickup was bland but who cares when you're rocking a hello kitty strat.
If you can't find one in time for her birthday let me know and I can look into prices for you and help you out. April 16th is when my discount kicks in for Guitar Center so i should be able to get you a good price. I'm all for helping kids get into music at an early age, I wish I had started young.

That's awesome. I am not in a huge hurry, so I can totally wait on until after April 16th.. I would not even mind it used. She played a red one at Guitar Center and it fit her pretty well. I looked on the music store's website and this one is $150.

I appreciate the help. I didn't start playing until I was 18, and she has similiar musical ability to me so I want to introduce it when she is younger to see if she enjoys it. She can use my Bugera V5 which I can turn down to .1 Watts.
