jag plate on jagstang!

Post by robert(original) »

i went ahead and put a jag plate on my jagstang last night, its no where near done and i still need some parts for it, and even tho i have no pictures i was just too damn excited not to spill my guts about it, not to mention that i still have to make a pickguard for it.
basically all i have done is routed out the section and procured a bracket, and maybe wheel if aen lets me have them.
im thinking of putting a devi ever 33 circut in there becuz is sounds so fucking badass!
or maybe i will put NOTHING in there and when people ask when it does i can say NOTHING!

Would be great to see a pic of the whole guitar when you have more time.
A new pg would make it look neater for sure - look forward to hearing what you think when you have it wired up.

That looks great. I actually like the way it doesn't quite match up.

This may be a stupid question, but, since you talk about function over form, are you putting a typical Jag rhythm circuit in there? If so, do people actually use those? I don't have a Jag (yet!), but I can't imagine using that circuit... maybe an active boost or some sort of eq or one of Bill Lawence's Q-filters or something... I guess I don't really use neck pups all that often anyways.

I didn't think I would use the rhythm circuit when I got my Jag, but it's a pretty cool option. I have mine set with the volume wide open and the tone turned back to get that "woman" tone. It's cool having another tonal option available. I heard off someone here replacing the 50K pots with 1M pots to make is sound like the lead circuit so to have another neck setting available at the flip of a switch. (Dedicated Lead setting).

I think the Crack-Stang owner moved the plate more towards the bridge end to accomodate the stock guard. It meant losing the second slider switch but he moved that below the neck pup.
Looking cool in a crazy way already though Rob, if i unlikely stumble across a loaded plate sometime i'm gonna fir one on my JS too.
