Using a Stereo Memory Man w/Hazarai with a Boss PSU?

Post by VoxLove »

Hey all,

I have been checking the interweb for information on using EHX pedals with Boss PSUs.

Just wondering if anyone uses Boss PSUs with their EHX pedals... (I.e. new 9v Neg Centered Pedals).

(EHX state that they fit... but not to use them! I'm thinking this is for legal purposes/to stop overseas pedal sales??).

I guess from an electronics standpoint, if its a) 230/240 volts. 200mA. & Neg Centered... Then Boss PSU's are identical to the EHX ones...

Cheers!

from the user manual.
9V Power Jack

Plug the output of the SMMH’s supplied AC Adapter into the 9V power jack located at the
top of the SMMH. The SMMH requires 9 - 9.6VDC at 200mA with a center negative plug.
The SMMH accepts Boss style AC Adapters.
cogito ergo sum...thing or other...

Solved!

P.S. Was also looking for an Analog Delay and found an incredibly cheap Chinese pedal:
Biyang AD8 Analog Delay = $69 AUD...

Has anyone had experience with these?

I've heard that their distortions are OK, but any modulation-type pedals are best avoided. Identical schematics to GFS pedals too apparently...Never played any though, so can't venture too much opinion.

If you're after an analogue delay that's not going to break the bank, memory boy all the way is my two-pence-worth.
