I have about 11 guitars but I've only had 2 cases:
Fender AV '57 Strat ($950, w/AV case tweed/orange)
Gibson Les Paul Std ($1900, w/Gibson shroud case black/black)
Want to buy a Jaguar case.
I was going to say it should be around $500 but let's face it, a hardshell case coming with a $500 guitar for free is some sort of beautiful fairy tale these days. Probably some of the lesser known brands are cool enough to do it.

Friggin J Mascis jazzy didn't come with a case. Bought it for about $900 then, now it's in the thousands. Ima be pissed if there's still no case for it.
When I bought my MIM Tele I just asked the storeowner "and if I pay cash does it come with a hard case"? And it did.
My Gretsch came with a case - in fact the salesman kept on asking me if I "wanted to see the case" while I was trying out the guitar. I can't imagine buying a guitar without a hard case for it.
All my high end guitars have come with hard cases. My two Taylor acoustics did along with the PRS I used to own. My AVRI Jag came with one as well. My Jagmaster and CV Duo Sonic don't and of course shortscale cases aren't easy to find or cheap either.

I am surprised an Artist Series guitar would not have a case.
