Really? Ash? What made it so brown? I thought ash was typically much lighter.

it's a transparent stain, lots of 70s fenders had it.

Ooh, that makes sense. I was already browsing warmoth for all kinds of exotic brown-ish types of wood. Never thought about stained ash.

Holy crap, that thing looks awesome - thanks Hotrod and Stewart. For some reason, I always keep coming back to natural wood guitars (or close to it) or severely worn sunbursts. Thanks for giving me ideas. And GAS.

Last time I went to this forum I ordered myself a vinyl racing stripe and black pickguard on my '69 bananayellowstang. I should stop coming here. ;p
