DanHeron wrote:Mike, i have a quick question you might be able to help me out with...

I am building this little device to go on top of my camera. Basically its a small servo motor from an RC car and then a device which controls the power to the motor. It lets the power go through in controlled intervals e.g every 10 seconds (you can adjust the time) to the motor and the arm rotates and clicks the shutter button on the camera. So you set it up and leave your camera to take loads of photos and then you sequence them together to make time lapse films.

Anyway, i have the servo motor and the device to control the power BUT i cant find the correct battery pack. Do you know what type of battery this is? Or where I could get one? I tried B&Q and Maplins and got nothing.

"The circuit and servo are powered by a 4.8 VDC 2/3 AAA battery pack. "

:?
a lot of cordless phones use those.
RC cars too.

i'm not sure if that helps or not.

my house phone has a battery like that
you could use a battery clip for four AAA batteries
im pretty sure would work and loads cheaper

Thanks people. The closest thing I've seen is with cordless phones and rc cars, like Reece said. The only problem is they are all rechargable and I'm pretty sure the one the guy used from that picture isn't. If i can find one that comes with a charger that will be alright i guess. I plan on doing timelapse's over a few hours so I need one that lasts a bit of time.

if you used a battery clip with 4 AAA batteries you could use rechargable batteries,
is it going to be out door use too? away from a mains supply?

its gonna be outdoors, away from mains power. clipping together batteries would be fine, but its the connection to the device which is most weird. Like this, but it has 3 pins. I'm looking at it though and i think a 2 pin one would be ok:

Just the texture knob and the clipping options, really.

Mike,

What ever happened to your Saltstorm Trooper pedal? Did someone pick it up?

I am totally in love with my Saltbreaker/Saltbooster combo and the Gold Fuzzface you made me. That bias control really helps me dial the fuzz into the sweet spot. I meant to demo the both over Sprink break, but I was too busy with my guitar builds. Hope to demo soon though. Thanks.

Nah noone bought it and I gutted it a while ago I think. Glad you're liking the pedals!

Scandoslav I think you're probably best to order from him if he makes the exact pedal you want?

Yes. And thrice yes. They all look tight as all hell. The Saltbooster is the epitome of clean and striking.

Coupla noob questions:

Mike - is that gaffa tape on the inside and what does it do (apart from be sticky of course)?

benecol - do you design graphics stuff in general?
