I haven't read all of this thread. It seems like a silly argument that isn't worth having and doesn't mean anything, but everyone is going to jump into it anyway.

I got as far as this:
tomin8r wrote:maybe you could just go back to Offset and take your ZMGAWDMONKAYGRIPZJAG/fanboyism with you?
Sorry, you've been posting here less than a year. Who the fuck are you to make people feel like they shouldn't post here? You don't represent this forum.

I see your point Bacchus,

I know I'm not one to judge, I've already apologized for the remark about a page back in the thread. I just represented my opinion, as I have had a bit of bad experience with OSG and the, "Vintage Correctness" MOST members hold sacred. I realize that offset is a very useful information hub, and I still cruise it from time to time to see people's opinions on various instruments.

I do realize that I have overstepped my boundaries. It's the internet, people like me, get put in their place, and they live and learn. Thats life.

Cheers ((aug))

I guess you haven't seen my Jag... I don't go for vintage correctness

Next guitar will hopefully be a routed vintage offset that I can put some sort of Gibsonesque pickups in, or maybe just more G&L pups.

I know a lot of people on OSG prefer vintage neck radiuses and stuff, but there are tons of modders over there.... I mean many are Sonic Youth fans and you see what they have done to their guitars.

But nothing in my posts in this thread were about vintage correctness, so I am not sure how your anger about that got into this thread. but whatever.

That is one sexy Jaguar. I really like what you did there. Did you have somebody customize the pickguard or did you do it yourself? I take that this is wired like a Jazzmaster?

Got the guard from Pickguardian. Wired kind of like a JM. No rhythm circuit. Matches this schematic but with a JM/Gibson style toggle

Euro, wasn't that the 'Leo's Greatest Hits' guitar?

I think I remember seeing the thread for that. Great build I must say.

I guess I was wrong in taking my frustrations out on you. I was pretty out of line.

My anger just comes from past bad experiences.

I dont really mind OSG as a whole, but, like any forum/workplace/school/whatever you may, there are people who have set attitudes which ruin it for others.

Cheers mate, love them G&L pups.

That really is a sweet Jag. First thing that stood out was the three-way switch, until I noticed the G&L pickups and was all "WOOOOOAH! Awesome!"

G&L pickups are fucking nice.

See, "brit rock/brit pop" means something completely different to me - I'd just call them Indie and have done with it. I honestly don't give a fuck about this vanguard of what is and isn't indie or upsetting people. If I say "Indie band" most people get what I mean in that it's not a metal, funk or jazz band. It points to a general area. If that's too vague there's always or 'sounds like <insert band>' examples. Life's too short for this shit.

As for the guitar, if it's Aztec Gold it doesn't look like a very accurate photograph - not a fan either way, sorry!

If I had to label a genre as indie and had to label one type of guitar to that label, it would be this. Based off my experience the bands the I consider indie mostly play teles.

isn't indie just some sort of botched abbreviation for 'independent?' meaning any success they have can be attributed to their hard work and dedication as they were 'independent' of any label assistance?

am confuse.

if what guitar you play qualifies you as a particular genre, then i'm a grunge-blues-classic rock-nu-pop-indie crap head.

That is what it started out as. But anymore I feel like if we have a hard time labeling it we throw into the "Indie" category. It is not heavy enough to be rock. It doesn't appeal to enough people to be pop. When I think of indie I think of the band Cursive.

I think everyone is going to have a different idea of what indie is. Which is why arguing about it seems like a waste of time to me.

If that guitar had normal inlays, I would probably buy one.

I love that body shape with the tele pickups and control plate.

Idol body shape is great, and Idols are great guitars. Shame Washburn ruined them with this monstrosity, as most people only know the idol as this.

I have an Idol. for a humbucker guitar it is good.
