im looking for like a rubber/foam pad to put my monitors on. when i play my record player it starts humming the second i drop the needle quietly then it gets louder and louder and louder and eventually gives a real low bassy feedback. the vibrations of the monitors are shaking the shit out of the computer desk which the record player is sitting on too.
i searched "foam pad" "isolating foam pad"
and all i get is the shit you stick on your walls to sound proof.
does this kind of thing exist? if so links ?
the monitors came with rubber pads on the bottom but they are mega thin.

I think the important bit is that you probably don't need to spend money on expensive isolating foam, because that's something that will have been designed for studio use to do a fairly specific job.
There are probably any number of things lying around you that will work fine and can be put together in such a way as to look discrete. Shave your cats, put the hair in sandwich bags. Hey presto: Isolation pads.
