Crate v50

Post by Berto »

So far so good! Crate has produced an amazing product and for the money you can't go wrong. I personally believe this amp sounds better than the HRD, and it costs substantially less. Here are some pics of the circuit board, I already had the amp open to check the innards:

I will upload more of the exterior. The battery died in my camera.

I will do an demo of it soon

I have one of these too. There was a member who used to post here (Ultraviolence?) who had one and had problems with it, but I've had mine since they came out and never had a problem. I've never gigged with it, but it has fallen over in the car once or twice while I was bringing it to our practice space and it still worked fine.

GB, the cleans are ok, but if you use high output pups it breaks up early. With low and mid output pups it doesnt break up as much. The cleans are actually pretty nice when you play soft stuff.

Hey Berto, could you show or tell me where the tube bias trimpot is? I was thinking of replacing the tubes in it and havent taken it apart yet.
No.

The two red circles indicate where the two trim pots are. I can't tell which one does what because the leads from the power tubes seem to contact both.

I think the cleans are awesome, i believe the pickups in the t-30 are high output
