Vibro/Super Champ XDs are quite nice. They're even cheaper on eBay.

Look at old Peaveys in that range, too. It's a difficult price, but not impossible.

Wow, I didn't know you could get Silverface tones for so cheap.

What's the tone like on one of these? e.g. glassy, dirty etc.

Is that a 15" speaker?

Sorry for minor derail.

Can usually snag silverface champs/vibrochamps for 250'ish. I got one for that a couple months ago and it's a great house/apartment amp.

I'd say tell your friend at ZZounds (I just got an order from them Friday....) to keep an eye on their warehouse relealed items. I think they have a Bugera v22 for about 300. Plus it would be better to spend a couple dollars more and get something that is going to work for you long term then cheap out (unless you find a cool tube amp used.....)
They say great minds think alike....Sometimes we do too...

Just posting to wallow in the musicmaster porn - one of my setups:

If you are patient they are out there for $200ish shipped. 12 watts of 12 inches of tube goodness.
