Viva iPhone. Sort of.

Post by ultratwin »

I wanted to see how well an iPhone could do video, so Cindi and I shot some rough footage in our apartment complex's backyard, by the local Tancheon River, and elevator yesterday, plus some a few weeks back after the cherry blossoms fell and Magnolias were in full bloom), using a new edit of The Majestic High's Doom Compilation submatt we did from last year. Added old clips I took back in the summer of 2004 at Big Sur/Pfeiffer Beach/San Ynez Valley/Carmel on an old Canon digital camera, and was honestly surprised how decent the result was, when well lighted and edited in iMovie. Unfortunately, iLife 2009 has some notorious audio errors that mess everything up when exporting, which leaked out early on in the 1st verse(:54).

i take it you have a 3Gs iPhone. The quality of video that my 3g produces is annoyingly bad, it almost looks like a flip book.

Thanks for viewing! I honestly wish we'll be able to film the whole thing in big Sur someday.

Yeah, both Samsung and LG did some major lobbying to keep iPhone coming in for years, but when the levee broke last summer, the entire communications paradigm shifted and we now have great stuff from domestic makes as well. Unlike Japan, November was when it all began for us here in Korea, and sure enough the 3GS was the first model to hit the shores. So yeah, great videos are here to stay!

Pics aren't half bad either. A few from today's stop at the Moollon shop. Generally passable, considering the artificial lighting of the place:
