sweet new el degas!

Post by brandon. »

So I just got a wicked El Degas P-bass in a trade. I traded a couple cymbal stands, a nice Zildjian A ride and a cracked ride for the bass.

Great deal, no cash exchanged, just sweet sweet old gear.
Here's my score:

It has some nice wood grain, but it doesn't show up well in the picture.

Check out the tiny tuning knobs

Has anyone seen a pickup like this? The other El Degas I have has a humbucker, but this one
looks like a telecaster style single coil... I love how weird these are.

They match!

Thanks for taking a look.

that's pretty cool. i'm not a p-bass fan, and couldn't find any other pics to see what kinda pup those come with, but it definitely looks like a tele lipstick bridge (based on the screw configuration). i'm curious what those other two weird screws are.

It looks like it used to have a cover and so did the bridge, there are screw holes by the bridge and random screws + marking on the scratchplate where the cover used to be.

Its pretty sweet anyway.

Oh and that semi is gorgeous

yeah definitely covers...
If I can find a decent set somewhere for cheap I'd love to throw some on.
Here's the one with the humbucker:

i loves me them old El Dégas and other "lawsuit" instruments.
i JUST got myself an old Teisco Telecaster Thinline ('72) copy... REAL nice, and i've never seen one like it. pretty much dead-on fender clone.

i've had some el degas' too.
enjoy!

Oh that humbucker looks good on a P-bass

Sweet guitars, I've never heard of that brand before though. They look awesome though!

The bass is allright, but that semi hollow body with the pointy horns is a sexy beast
