maguar with p90s resurrected from the dead
resurrected from the dead.
unfortunately, the guy that cut my pickguard squeezed the two pickups together again after i tried to space them out as far as possible from each other.
however i can't really complain...

thanks for the compliments guys,
the pickups are the GFS alnico vintage ones. the cream colour is kind of 'darker' than the ones i have on my '56 RI epi goldtop too
it sounds amazing, i was looking for something that had a fuzz around the edges like my epi, it meets all that and more, but i think the 1meg pots really clean it up tho, might switch to a 500k pot i have when i have the time.

i have to admit that your guitar was the starting point for my inspiration, it was routed from a fender body right? it's a beautiful piece too, the spacing of the pickups make it that look much betterThom wrote:That looks really great - I used to have P90s in my Jag, I like the look a lot and think they sound great together.
the warmoth one had routing done for humbuckers already so it just needed a guard.
That's great, I'm glad I inspired something that turned out so great.KS11 wrote:i have to admit that your guitar was the starting point for my inspiration, it was routed from a fender body right? it's a beautiful piece too, the spacing of the pickups make it that look much betterThom wrote:That looks really great - I used to have P90s in my Jag, I like the look a lot and think they sound great together.

Yes, mine was a regular Fender Jag and the pickups went:
1) Stock Japan
2) Stock neck, Humbucker Bridge
3) P90 neck, Humbucker Bridge
4) P90 both positions
5) Rewound original pickups
I'm really liking the current rewound pickups, but there was something special about the dual P90 configuration.
I like it even though that neck pickup is full-on flipping the bird at the 24th fret node. Looks like he used the top edge of the much-narrower jag singley as a starting point for the route. The rhythm circuit routes do cramp things a bit up there though.
