LANK

Are these an oddity or quite common?

I wouldn't say they are common, but they aren't rare. They're very good value apparently. I've never played one, but everything seems right about them.

I've got the Deluxe neck-thru model, its a cracking guitar. Eric had one of these bolt-on jobbies but in red.

The Stagemaster is discontinued. They followed it up with the Showmaster, kept the reverse headstock but made an extra model with a Strat tremolo as well as the Floyd Rose version.
Based on that maybe the Showmaster will appeal to you more.

That's quite nice. I'll store it in the 'buy some time in your life when you've got some spare cash' file.

What's the reason for the oddly shaped neck plate? :?:

The contoured plate/heel aids higher fret access. A lot of companies do it.

I've never played a guitar with that heel shape. Does it work? I don't see myself putting my fingers on the heel of the guitar to get to those higher frets, I would just try to stretch it.

Alsoooo, fuck the haters on the Hannah Montana guitar. The Washburn Idol is a good guitar.

Showmasters are pretty cool. I always think of the Neon Pink showmaster Test Icicles used:

Wonder what the stickers were that were on the pick guard??

Doesn't look like anything too special to me, just another Strat.
