My birthday was a month ago on Thursday... I wanted to buy myself something cool, and what else is cooler than a vintage Comp Stang? That's what I've been tellin' myself anyhow! I thought finding a good one would be easy, but It's been essentially a non-stop search for the past month, as I wanted an early one with a matching headstock, and also wanted a "nice/clean" example. In the process of my search I ended up finding (and buying) a very sweet '66 Duo-Sonic II, I figured it would soften the disppointment of not finding an equally nice Comp Stang, and expected to use it for trade bait, or even possibly sell it if I ever found the "right" Competition Mustang...well I did find it but the problem is I love the Duo-Sonic, and am not selling it! In any case, I decided "what the heck" and struck a deal on this Mustang late last week... its a true uncirculated one-owner piece, complete with tags, original manual, bridge cover, tremolo arm, case, etc...perfect chrome, 100% original everything. Aside from a couple small paint chips she's pretty dang cherry. If there was ever a poster child for "too much gear" I guess I'm it, but that's ok...

I literally played the song and then proceeded to scroll up and down over the pictures until the song ended.
Somebody's gotta autoplay that shit.

Oh thanks - you just fed my Mustang gas. That is a beautiful guitar. I think the little chips give it a bit of character - you don't want it to be too perfect.

That is gorgeous. It's funny how much I love aged nitro CAR on vintage fenders, because I cannot stand the color on the japanese/mexi reissues.
I also like how it is the opposite color scheme to your duo sonic.
Well done sir.

It would be cool if you could do a photo of the Musicmasters, the Duo-Sonic and the Mustang all in a row.
