I have one of the bullet cables. One of the main reasons for getting one was because I kept tripping over the straight leads and these sit in a nice heaped pile on the floor. Cheaper than a broken guitar. Other than that I quite like them aesthetically. One big down side is they're quite heavy.
I've never used them, they just look cool. The bassist in my old band used to use them and it was a right pain, if he walked away from the amp it would just unplug or it'd get tangled with my leads

I'm tempted by those for the coolness factor, are they noisy though? I've heard thats a problem with coily leads

I like black Hosa coily cables because I can dismantle my setup quick and easy. (just drop them in my gig box with no no need to coil them and they never tangle.) Also, I like benefiting of a 20 foot range without having to tangle 20 feet's worth of cable around mic stands/ankles. I couldn't give a shit about loss in fidelity and I'm not too concerned about how they look. They stay out of my way, they're compact and low maintenance. That's all the incentive I need.

I wouldn't say I prefer them but I have a really good one that's ancient and still works, built like a tank. I have headphones too from an old ass stereo unit with a curly cable that still work and they have to be from the 70-80s.
I have bought other cables that crap out after one year of use, even-though they all have a "lifetime guarantee". Trying to get a new cable from Guitar Center after explaining it has lifetime warranty makes me feel like a botard, the whole process is frustrating.
Yeah, I think people mostly like them for the looks... I've only had bad experiences with them getting tangled, twisted, and tied around everything they touch, including themselves. They do fit some looks rather well.
