It's a neck that "intonates" properly on a body built for a different scale. Same bridge placement (same bridge-to-neck-heel distance), different scale. The last few frets of fretboard are hacked off and heel is moved forward to compensate.
I bought a T15 neck, which arrived today. It is indeed a conversion neck when matched up with a body in a way that makes sense w/r/t the neck's contours and mounting hole positions. There's enough space for a 20th fret when the neck is lined up like that, so there's a difference in pocket configurations between the standard "strat" and Peavey T.
I imagine that the T25, T26, and T27 have 24.75" conversion necks. They could be useful for anyone looking to make a Peavey-headstocked Toronado/Jagmaster II hybrid/abomination. I'd do it.
Or a 24.75" Jag HH, maybe. All it'd take is a little neck pocket surgery.

I had a T-60 that I sold on craigslist. I would have loved to convert it to lefty but I felt wrong defiling a perfectly well made 60's instrument like that.dub wrote:Didn't Pens have one?
The necks on Peavey's have always been really nice. The T-60 had the same neck as my much later Predator.
