Yes and amen on nearly all my 'taurs, expect the CIJ Strat, which feels lovely with its thin neck on a set of 10-46 D'addaz.

EXL115's all the way for me.

I have also tried and liked 10-46s like Andi. They're the only brand for me.

Dean Markley 2556 REG BLUE STEEL (10-46') or D'Addario EXL110 (10-46) which ever one has the best £ deal on when I'm buying

never buy:

ERNIE sucks BALLs

The only way to stop these breaking is not to play the guitar you’ve put them on

I pretty much use Rotosound strings. Since they're cheap and workout great for me. I use the purples on my Jaguar, Yellows on teh Esquier and the Reds on the Venus and Duo.

I keep meaning to pickup some .011-.070s for the Esquier for Drop A fun =D

What do people generally use for full scale bass? I figure I should get a spare pack or two in case I break a string on stage.

What about coated strings? I used elixirs once but they just broke, has anyone tried the D'addario exp's, Ernie Ball Titaniums or Kerly Kues strings?

I use either D'addario or EB Slinky 10-46's on all electrics

I find Slinkys have a bit of a thinner warmer tone and D'addarios a bit bigger and brighter. Marginal though and both great strings.

Depends what I'm in the mood for or what's lying around.

Coated strings are a waste of fucking money in my experience. They didn't sound right either. You're better off buying a stick of Fast Fret.

I do use fast fret but my sweat just destroys uncoated strings, which is a right pain as I have barely any money :?

Ok I just ordered 2 sets of elixir 12-52 and 2 sets of GHS 12-52. Hopefully I'm not going to snap the elixirs as I've moved up a gauge.

Plus theyre bloody expensive so it'll piss me off if theyre shit

d'angelico soul-rocks are my current favorite, but i want to try d'addario half-rounds as they come in heavier gauges.

There seems to be alot of Ernie Ball hate floating about...

I use beefy slinkys and practically sledgehammer them with my right hand and have never broken a string...
