Neer Geer Derr
I thought I'd go for an alternative title instead of NGD as thats my style
Anyway I've been squirrelling money away for quite some time so I could buy myself a nice new guitar. I posted a few threads about different guitars and after all that I ended up with a guitar I don't think I mentioned.
I've wanted a hollow bodied guitar for ages and so I'm really happy with my new purchase:
Eastman T186mx in sunburst.
All solid woods, a solid wood block below the bridge, gotoh hardware and kent armstrong pickups (which incidentally sound really good).
I bought it second hand from a guy who works at Foulds in Derby, the guitar has been gigged and is a little bit beat up, but with a bit of polishing and what-not plays, sounds and looks great.
Anyway thats enough rambling, here's some pics:
Cheers

They're slighty different, its more acoustic sounding. The feel and amplified sounds are pretty close but you have a bit more depth, it's hard to explain but the bass and treble are stronger which gives the clean sound a great level of warmth, sounds great.ultratwin wrote:I've yet to play a non-laminate archtop of any sort, and would love to hear what you think of it.
The headstock was the one thing I disliked about the guitar, it suits it I guess but I'm so used to guitars with smaller headstocks.Justin J wrote:headstock kinda reminds me of those old gibson top-tension banjos
On a whole I'm loving the guitar and cheers for the compliments

For some reason, i just dont like flamed out or nice finishes. not saying i like beat up "relic" guitars. idk maybe this stems from my subconscious not wanting me to have nice things.
