They have this guitar in a local store.Its mostly original except it has new tuners.

Love to have one of those.My friend has 2 at his store but they are not for sale.

what kind of bracing does it use? Lateral or X bracing?

you sure that tailpiece is original? most of those old gibsons had a weird pegged tailpiece with celluloid tortoiseshell on it.

Yeah,it is probably a replacement.

have you seen this series of youtube videos? fairly mandolin-centric, but they play a whole bunch of gibson instruments from the teens and twenties.

check out the other videos if you haven't already. the one of 'whiskey before breakfast' played on two mandocellos is my favorite.
