Good replacement for Cream Puff

Post by jimib »

Long story short, my friend left his pedal board at one of our gigs.
Went back to get it and his Frantone Cream Puff and Crowther Audio Hotcake were missing.
Luckily (?) the rest were still there so it could have been worse.

Cream Puff really worked so well for our band but now that Frantone is no longer making pedals we need something similar (and hopefully nothing stupidly expensive).
Hotcake can be replaced down the track or just get a cheaper OD.

Thanks guys.
(I know I havent been around here much for ages been playing way too much xbox... but any help appreciated)

If I remember correctly the Cream Puff uses one 4558, I don't think it's as fuzzy as the name implies.

According to Freestompboxes, it's essentially two op amp muff fuzzes into a big muff tone control. Easy build really.

Mike (madebymike.co.uk) specialises in one-off builds and might already have a layout for this.
