new guitars

Post by hendrix1234 »

heres a couple of new guitars i recently got.

the first is a telecaster project im putting together, its pretty much a brand new mexi tele, with a bigsby kit on it.
all i need now is some pickups, its got a crappy tele copy in the birdge atm, but im not sure what pickups to get for it.
i was thinking either fender original vintage, or maybe no casters? oh and i went with a mint green guard.

second is a 2007 schecter c1 classic, it is such a nice guitar to play and it sounds great(thanks to the Seymour JB+Jazz combo).
it looks fantastic and the inlays on the neck are done really well.

onto the pics

They look nice or I'd have one of these for the bridge position.

The Schecter's not getting much love, eh :P
The pickup combo and string-through setup are pretty nice, though; looks like a player. Personally I'm not big on super busy inlays or shredder styled guitars; Schecter makes such a range of instrument types, it's an interesting company.

A friend of mine has that same schectar. FATTEST neck I've ever played. Really dark sounding, even with the JB

Thats funny I could have sworn I made a post about the Schecter. Must be going barmy. Anyway I've played a C1 and its a nice solid guitar. Action was good, fretwork was good. Its the kind of guitar that checks all the right boxes except the one that I can't think up a name for. Playing it is a pleasant experience but it just didn't light my fuse for some reason. I only played it unplugged so I can't really comment on how it sounds. Sounded fine unplugged though. Wasn't a dead plank.

Yeh i was looking into those gfs pickups, ill probly have to order some in as i live in Aus.

ill have to check to see if any stores over here get GFS stuff in.

yeh im not usually into the metal type guitars and the neck inlays are a bit excessive, but it does look nice and it plays fantastic so i had to get it.
also having the coil tap in positions 2+4 does brighten it up alot.

Might be able to get some GFS style pickups elsewhere - I know axerus does them in the UK.
