It's really just easier to work on than a terminal board. It won't really make much of a difference as far as sound goes. As long as everything is grounded and soldered correctly there shouldn't be any more potential for shorting out in a point to point wired amp than a terminal board.

If they ever hold this class at a time that I could make it I will join up. I was talking with them about a month or so and they said they may hold it at different times in the future.

BTW, it looks great.

Are you guys in the local band show at the Lincoln later this month? Spectra Records thing?

Sorry Cur, I just saw your post. No we didn't play anything for Spectra at Lincoln. We did play at the Lincoln on August 1st though. It was an awesome show! That's such a fun stage to play on!

The instructor was saying that the next class he'd like to build a reverb unit. I might sign up for that one too. I would think that they would have more than one of these classes going at a time.

The class is all finished up now and the amp sounds awesome! I'm about to post some more pics in here in just a second too.

UPDATE:

The amp is done and it sounds so good! I still have to finish the cabinet for it but as soon as I finish that up I will do a demo so you guys can hear the amp itself as well as the amp run through an extension cabinet.

Here's the amp, the unfinished cabinet and the speaker. The speaker is a Jensen MOD 10-35. The cabinet needs the holes for the screws filled over and then sanded and then I'll be tolexing it.

Here's the cabinet with the screw holes filled over. By the time it dried it was too dark outside for me to sand it. Hopefully I'll be able to do that tomorrow.

Sonic Blue Tolex from Mojotone!

Grill cloth also from mojotone.
