Has anyone on here ever tried to put a squier mini neck on a full sized strat?If so does it fit,and or look alright?

So yeeeeah, it won't intonate on a normal Strat because of the scale length difference.

It's pretty much just an experiment using the cheapest crap i can buy.

Otis dude, its not even a 'might' work, it just plain won't. To marry the two together you'd have to move the Strat Bridge position forward to match the the scale length of the neck. Maybe it would work with a bit of fudging and saddle adjustment on a Duo (never had one so not sure).

I suppose it would be possibe that you could put an extention bit between the neck and body so the neck frets fall where the end of a normal strat would fall but even then it would still be a nightmare that probably wouldn' intonate and look pish to boot.

If you're going to all the trouble of marrying a Strat body to it why not have a crack at making a body? Trace a mini strat and make it out of better wood or something.

It seems that what you want to do is going to be a massive headache for little or no good result. I think its Rondo/SX (?) that now make full size body Strats with 24" scale necks for cheap $$$ so maybe its worth spending your change o one of those and sell the neck to recoup expenses. Just a thought

+ 1 on the SX SST57 suggestion, nice guitars for the money.

Note: The link posted above by Dave is for a Douglas Peragro Travel Guitar. It has a full sized body. I was disappointed with the quality of it. The link for the correct guitar is this:

The body on the SX SST57 is scaled down. And the build quality is much better than the Douglas Peragro.

Then if you want to do some mods to it, you have a nice guitar that will play in tune.

I went back and read the original post again. I think I should clarify my suggestion for the SX SST57 above.

If, as you stated in the OP, your goal is a full sized strat body on a 24" scale neck, then Dave's suggestion of the Douglas Peragro Traveler guitar is correct. But again, the build quality is lacking. If you like to work on guitars, then you will have some work to do on this one to get it playable.

If, by chance you decide you want a smaller body, the SX SST57 is a higher quality instrument. It should be basically playable right out of the box.

I really want one of these but with the old headstock design. There is a thread knocking about where a member did some great upgrades to one, including a decent solid block trem ground down to fit. Was awesome. To be honest I don't much see the point in the full size body with shortscale neck any way!

The only way you can buy it is if you buy it in a package.

It is not the same quality as the SST. Single ply pickguard vs three ply and some other cost cutting items, I am sure. Click on the link on the product page of the EG1K for a table that compares them.

It might be alright for the money. Especially if you needed the entire package. But I would still choose the SST over the EG1K.
