What is the guide to finding a Wah pedal?
So i have been searching high and low, looking for a wah pedal.
Im wondering if there is a way to know which wahs do what.
For example, I want a wah that Quacks. Dont necessarily need
something thats very nasal and high pitched. Something
funky. Any suggestions?
It could be vintage or new. Just needs to sound good.

I like Cry Babies and have one of them. I'm not even sure what type it is.
I used to have a Boss PW-10 v-Wah. I can't recommend it enough. It's a bit pricey, but it does a couple of different wah sounds, all of them tweakable to make them suit you a bit better, and it has loads of other stuff chucked in, a couple of fuzz/distortion/overdrive sounds (some of them are very useable too, not at all gimmickey), as well as a good univibe clone, and a crazy bass synth type thing.
Apparently they are bombproof, but I managed to get mine to not work anymore. I wonder if it can be fixed...

Its just a regular Dunlop Crybaby Wah used by Chapterhouse, and The Stone Roses used one as well (modified by Roger Mayer to be more like Hendrix's). Chili Peppers with Frusciante use (but I dont know if they always used to use) an Ibanez WH-10. When Dave Navarro was in the band he used a Dunlop Crybaby. So I'd say you want some Crybaby variant, a 535Q will probably be more than enough wah for you.

i've only had two wahs ever. first was a crybaby, and to me, it's the most comfortable and useable sweep.
also had a buddha wah, which was very nice, didn't color the sound at all when off, and looked perty.
oh, i guess technically, i've had three. i have a rogue wah/volume, which is a peice of shit.

I have 2 Wah's, a Jet Crybaby from the 1980's and a Vox classic. Tempted by a Morley cause I am fed up with trying to keep the dust out of the pots. Fine if you are using with a bit of crunch but makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck (in a bad way ) when I'm playing clean and I get wah-crackle-wah
Don't look at me I'm irrelevant!
I recommend one of these Artec apw-3 It’ll give you the sound your after and a whole lot more for substantially less than a crybaby...
