Bushings Help

Post by crofty »

I just got some new klusons for my mustang project, and it turns out that the holes drilled in the headstock are massive. About 12mm diameter. I got two sets of bushings with the tuners, and the biggest ones still slip straight through the hole. Can i get bigger bushings? If not, what can i do!?!
sick as pie.

you can get conversion bushings that'll fit larger holes. you might then have to drill out the centre of the bushing to get the tuner peg through, as for some reason the manufacturers seem incapable of making them properly. you can do it with a hand drill once the bushings are on the neck, i've done it before.

yeah. i had some conversion bushings for these ones. but they still came up well short of the size of the hole. the best size i can find is a 10.5mm bushing, but that still seems some way short to me.

erk.

you might have to dowel the holes in the headstock and re-drill them in that case.
