I love my fender guitars but this is one of my 'go-to' guitars.. It has a very nice and mildy blues tone coupled with my champ and TS
-all original, 3 single coils with factory covers, phase switch, 5 way p/u select, very 80ish fender neck/fretboard, 5 springs on trem. Its in great shape aside from the wear up on the top (as you can see)

anyone else use these for gigs or studio work?

that guitar confrrruzed my brain! haha .. so they took a roadstar and did some kind of weird play on paint rg/ex of it?

the blue is the original paint job, but the rest is confusing. the one i saw had the same color blue pick up covers and looked awesome.

i hate maple fretboards, but with a matching headstock is unbelievably more horrendous.

I had the h/h Floyd version many years ago (similar to the one Rhys was selling) in a greeny blue. It was a great guitar, i gigged it for 3 years alongside the Gordon Smith explorer.

I've got a 1986 Proline pl1770, which is basically the same guitar, but H-S-S with a floyd and RG style headstock. I converted it into a permanent hardtail though, floyds aren't really my thing anymore. Not so much for the whole "WHAT THE FUCK MAN TUNING IS SOOOOOOO HARD EVERYTHING ELSE IS BETTER BLAHH" argument, it's just because I change tuning a lot.

I love mine. I never play it though. The piickups are just incredible for distortion work and the neck is the fastest neck I've ever had, faster than the wizard necks of today IMO. On the clean side though, it leaves a lot to be desired. Thin, but not in a pleasing surf way.

kev has one of those roadstar basses, i actually like it, feels smooth and sounds really growly and warm, not what i usually like about basses i like it to have more clang but somehow you can get those typical growly and warm stoner bass sound but with lots of definition still, maybe because of the bigass bridge too ? and smooooth mapple neck. i like them. one of my bass heroes scott reeder (ex kyuss) also plays/played one of them, lefty.

Cool nice looking guitar! Kinda like a strat, but different enough to make it kind of interesting.

@Rhysyrhys - Man I really like these tunes.. kinda old school incubus sounding (with a little more of the *good* stuff)

@ Kim- You know, I havent played one of the roadstar basses in yeeeeeaaars. I do remember them having a really cool tone and feel about them.
