Silver sparkle is my least favorite color of the SS but in good condition it is still cool. Blue Sparkle is totally sexy. They are becoming more rare on ebay as of late. It will be interesting to see what it goes for. I remember I almost got a Silver one on ebay that went for $225. I hated missing that one.

$571 is upper range for a SuperSonic, but it's in good condition and the numbers for sale have been dwindling as of late. That's what Jag-stangs are going for and they are usually cheaper than that.

yeah I can remember buying one of these from GC for about 100 bucks years ago. Its crazy how much some of these guitars have went up and down over the years.

That would be an excellent project guitar. I might take a hard look at it and see where it goes. Very rough but it could be worth it. I have a trace for a new one, but a refurb would be cool as well.broncobuster80 wrote:check this SS out.... OUCH!!!!

The neck is the part I would probably want the most. I can build the body, but a lefty shortscale neck is hard to come by. I would love the body for refin and the neck plate might be worth something.

Hey Talornutt here is the neck I bought for my super sonic project http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/necks/cbs ... gneck.aspx I even got a lefty with the side marker dots on the opposite side so they face up with the headstock reversed. I really want to get going on my project but I burned up my dremel cutting the template

I have a schematic for the SS that DawnofZion made that removes the strat trem and replaces it with a TOW bridge and string ferrules.finboy wrote:iirc the neck is a standard 25.5, and i believe someone on offset has a template for the body, crossguitar maybe?
it's getting to the point where building one is cheaper than buying

Somebody is crazy. That pile of SS parts is now up to over $350! That's insane! You could fine whole one for that almost. The problem here lately is they are becoming harder to find and now people are paying way too much for them. I have seen complete Jag-stangs go for that.broncobuster80 wrote:check this SS out.... That's what I paid for a completely whole and functional SS six months ago. Fuck that auction.
