1979 Musicmaster Neck

Post by xxhoixx »

Hi guys,

I posted a few months back about my 1979 Fender Musicmaster purchase. I love the guitar but kind of hate the big fat boat neck. I've come to really love my RI '69 mustang neck (got them around the same time) and would like to get a mustang neck for my musicmaster. I plan on keeping all of the original parts in case I ever want to part with the guitar, which will never really happen. Anyway, is there something I should keep in mind when buying a mustang neck as far as fit, year, etc...or will any mustang neck pretty much fit? I considered buying a warmoth one but would much prefer to buy a fender licensed one since I know that's the feeling I'm going for. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Any Fender 24" scale neck will fit on your Musicmaster, such as a Mustang, Bronco, Musicmaster, Duo-Sonic, or Jaguar neck.
As far as the "I considered buying a warmoth one but would much prefer to buy a fender licensed one since I know that's the feeling I'm going for." - Warmoth is Liscensed by Fender, thats why they can make exact copies of their headstocks etc. They also offer several different neck profiles to choose from so if you want a thinner neck you can always specify what you want when ordering.
