70's EHX Echoflanger or 81' EHX Polychorus

Post by secretsister »

I found two really nice auctions. One of them is seventies Echoflanger, the second one is Polychorus from 1981. I want to put my hands on one of them but I have problem which one :/ I don't have ability to compare them so I'm confused. Both are in very good condition and prices are very similar.
What's your opinions on this? I read somewhere that echoflanger is more "noisy" but that's all, I can't find any comparison or article about differences between them... And yeah, i know it's almost the same circuit, but there must be some differences ;)

PolyChorus both because it's newer and because YOU SAY it might be quieter, though I have no idea. Either one will give you trouble at some point, don't worry. :D

Cobain used both simply because they were breaking ALL THE TIME, and Earnie Bailey said he had numerous examples of each. He was going to use an Echoflanger on Unplugged but it was way too noisy in rehearsals.
