Ducks on a String

3 piece, guitar, bass, drums. I play the bass. We each listen to pretty different music, and this is a bit of a mishmash of what we all listen to. I try to keep it sounding full by playing lots of chords and not following the geetar too much.

We've been compared to lots of different bands that I wouldn't pick by drunken friends/punters at our gigs. ATDI, Battles, Sonic Youth, Nation of Ulysses, and so on. Usually with the suffix "but retarded" tacked on. We get called post-hardcore a lot, but none of us have heard of the genre. We've got 3 or so other songs that are a bit more post-rockish. We improv quite a lot in these songs to keep it fresh, each set we do a totally improv Naked City noise thing.

Demos recorded in a bedroom by a friend with a bunch of mics he liberated from work. Only had time to do 2 takes of each song except the noise one. All live except vox due to lack of mics. The untitled song is a combination of 2 different takes cuz we kept fucking up baaad. Pretty loose in parts. Not entirely happy with the performances, but it's just a demo yo.

Lemme know what you think, which songs work, which ones don't and whatnot.

I like it.

Sounds like you have a shoegazer and a metalhead in the same band, which is freakin sweet.
