Cheap Analog Delays / Analogue Delays

I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations please for cheap analogue delay pedals.

Three such pedals that I've identified so far are:
- Behringer Vintage Time Machine
- Behringer Vintage Delay D400
-Daphon Delay E20D

Any views on any of the above?

At present I only have one delay - a Boss DD7.

I want an anlogue delay too - a real one, and not an anologue sim (unless anyone knows any realy good ones).

And any thoughts on comparing the two Behingers mentioned? Is the extra worth it for the Vintage Time Machine over the VD400? (Btw - I've seen the two videos of these on youtube which two of members did; thsi I how I found out about your site).

So suggestions and recommendations on a cheap anolgue delay pedal, please? Must be under USD 100. (I'm not gonna buy a DM2/2, AD9 or MXR Carbon Copy.)

EHX Memory Boy is pretty good, I don't know how much they cost though - I got mine used for Â£40.

The Memory Boys are going for pretty cheap secondhand lately, but the best bang for buck analogue delay I've ever had (in fact, money aside, one of the best delays I've ever had) is the Behringer VD400: amazing little pedal. If I'd have paid Â£50, not Â£20 for it, I'd still have been blown away by it.

For the record, what makes you want a REAL analogue delay over a digital simulation of one?

I suppose because now it seems possible to buy a real anolog delay. Why get a 'fake' when you can afford the real thing?

Unless, are there any anolog delay sims aailable that sound more authentic that any cheap real anologue delay?

I have a VD400. I mainly used it on synth drums/percussion before getting my guitar.

I've never used any other analog delays so I can't compare it to others, but it works for me and is a lot of fun. Cheap and reliable, too.

DEWD. visual sound just came out with a $70 analog delay. I sold my carbon copy and bought one. It's a little dirtier on the decays, and the "runaways" are much easier to control.0

I have a Behringer VD400 that I'm not currently making a lot of use of. Compared to my WEM Copicat Mk. 1 tape echo, it doesn't provide the capability to choose any combination of 3 taps (tape heads) and the longest delay it provides is not as long. As far as I'm concerned its major drawback is its inability to provide a single echo without feeding the signal back into the loop; with the Copicat you always get the first echo (unless you turned it off) but maybe there's a mod out there that allows me to fix this. My son uses a Line 6 Echo park which allows you to select Analog and Tape simulations and our rhythm guitarist also uses one, They sound pretty good to me but they're not cheap.

If there are other analog delays out there that just delay without feeding the delay back in (so you can play harmony runs with yourself) I'd like to hear about them. If you don't need that capability, and just want a natural echo, the VD400 is great value.

I can dig analog delays, they're just not for me and most of my applications. Some of the models of analog stuff that Line 6 put out, I'd defy anyone to tell the difference in a live band situation.

I don't think Arion have been mentioned yet or DOD. I've had and enjoyed both brands. Check out Maneco as well, they aren't exactly cheap as memory serves but they are wicccked. Check out the BBE Two timer too - I can't say enough nice things about there pedals. For some reason they are copying pedals that no one else seems to want to... In this case the boss DM-2.

Are you also on the guitargeek forum?

Pale Saints' first album would be one of my 'desert island discs'. Their subsequent stuff could hardly have lived up to it. Spacemen 3's 'Perfect Prescription', 'Playing with Fire' and 'TDTMM' would also be there. Spacemen 3 are my absolutely favourite band... Sonic Boom is my musical hero...sorry, I'm gushing.
