Xavier Offset?

Post by Gabriel »

I was just on guitarfetish looking at Xavier guitars and I noticed this:

Theyre super cheap, but are they any good? Also does anyone know if the shipping to the UK for it costs crazy money or not?

I don't have any money for it right now, but in future I might, and it might be cool as a first offset guitar as its alot cheaper than a fender.

Cheers

I've got the sunburst version and I like it a lot. Great clean tones, although the neck pickup is too microphonic to use the neck or middle position with loud gain. The bridge pickup is nice and growly, it has a lot more "spank' than the single coils in my Ibanez. Neck is good, not super thick but chunky, although it was a bit thin width-wise at the nut for me so I replaced it. It stays in tune really well, the tremolo is really smooth and the graphite(?) nut is very slick. For the price it's definitely a lot of guitar.

I noticed these too and they look really nice. Don't have any experience with them though. I'm wondering now that GFS are making Jazzmaster pickups if they will make a model with real Jazzmaster pickups in it?

That would make it perfect, I can't help thinking it's missing the bigger pickups and rhythm circuit.

Are they stang/jazz/jag style but roller or summat? The onld yamaha sg-2 had a great looking bridge that seems logical with jag/jaz trem style..

i've heard varying things about these guitars...i think that the quality control varies alot. some people seem to love em, while other people that i know that have owned them have had to change the tuners, neck. bridge, pickups, etc.

i really like the way that the telemaster looks...pretty legit. i'd get one in two seconds if i knew it had a decent neck .
