That tuning scheme makes no sense (EADEADGBE). That whole step jump would be maddening.

I like G#/C/E/G#/C/E/G#/C/E or some variation. Could definitely open some doors.

The body shape isn't the best, but I imagine you need to make certain concessions to get that beast balanced.

I somewhat recall the body shape/style being created by a forum (SevenString.org perhaps?). Kurt, the owner of Rondo has used them to create most of the ERG models.

I wish he was nearly as responsive about his 6 string offerings as he is about the ERG crowd. As the 6 string stock stays fairly stagnant these days.

Seriously, I imagine that's kind of the general line of thinking at tedious boardroom meetings in most guitar companies. It's like the 80s never went away.

Not only do we add an extra string, but we add an extra pickup, an extra knob! Not only that, but we're going to add extra spikes onto the existing spikes, with a couple of extra spikes on top of those! Speaking of harp-esque guitars, I was messing around the other day with ideas and came up with this:



I think this thing would be awesome. I don't know how the hell I'd tune it, but the two bottom strings would be along the lines of Indian music, where they tune it to the raga being played.
