Yeah, I'm not sure it's even worth the £300 opening bid, to be honest.

I guess I gotta find a real one in London to see how it compares to my old copy; if they were indeed made in the factory, I maaaaaaaaaaay stop lusting for one. I think I'll have a bash at making a body first, if just for shits 'n gigglez.

I had a marauder about 12 years back - saw it in my local music shop, and it was 275 quid, looked like the body of a les paul and the neck off a Vee, it had been well played and had loads of fretboard wear - i thought it looked well cool!
Was nothing special though and i flogged it shortly after.

well, the gibson's were made at the gibson plant in kalamazoo, mi. the parts may have been MIJ or something but I'm pretty sure they were assembled in kalamazoo. A lot of those MIJ copies from that period were amazingly close though, so it could just be that too.

also, these pickups look vaguely similar to the fender lead humbucker :

I wonder who was ripping off who there.

Ok maybe it was the Melodymaker or something. I just remember Gibson M-something. Or maybe the dude lied to me.

Ooh - one of those rare guitars that actually looks better in sunburst. Quite like that.

I DO dig that in 'burst, and I'm not generally a fan of such things. Blocked-n-bound never hurts, though.

It's weird that, I generally don't like sunburst, but there definitely are some guitars that suit it so much better than a blank colour.
