Gearmandude looks like this ...

Post by 24HRS2MDNT »

Gearmandude is the third fellow interviewed ... the one that sounds like ... Gearmandude / Jack Black.

How do you feel about seeing what Gearmandude actually looks like?
Do you think those glasses are prescription and that he is a light sensitive type Dude?
Do you think he looks like more of a real older brother type solid Dude than the Hollywood Jack Black Dude?
Would you chill with him?
Would you rather chill with Luke Wilson?
Aside from Gearmandude do you think that people who are interested in collecting vintage guitars purely as an investment are Anti-Dudes?
Would you rather see this Dude in a music themed comedy than the Hollywood Jack Black Dude?
Do Babes have opinions and insights on The State of the Vintage Guitar Market?
Do Babes go to conventions or tradeshows?
Is there a more authentic and Dudelike Jared Leto type Dude that does gear review videos while throwing down real older brother type solid Dude vibes?

Seems a cool guy. I really hated him originally. I thought his voice was annoying and I saw one or two reviews of non-distortion pedals where he seemed a bit non-plussed. But then I saw his Whammy review where he just plugged it in without reading the manual or anything and totally took the piss. Then I liked him.

Fuck Whammy pedals.

I'm completely the other way round. I've watched loads of his demos and thought they were great, really enjoyed them. Then I watched the Whammy one and thought it was stupid.

He's posted here a few times hasn't he? Or did I make that up?

+1 for the Gearmandude. First port of call on Youtube when I am thinking of pedal shopping. I find his reviews informative, fun and I like his playing.
Don't look at me I'm irrelevant!

I just find it funny that if you watch the video on youtube and read the comments all people talk about is that its him and or reference jack black. Guaranteed they are still going to think he is jack black anyhow.

I like his demo's, he usually covers most areas you would be curious about with a pedal. I think his voice and delivery is one of the best on Youtube, he has the right balance between fun and seriousness whilst holding your attention. Even down to them Snakeskin(?) boots and choice of words.

I honestly never even thought about him sounding like jack black until robroe said it. I still don't think he sounds that much like jack black.

+1 - I'm always impressed when someone has put some decent shoes on for a pedal demo: minging white socks are far too common a sight.

I'm more of a leather sandles/white socks demo guy myself.
Shoes show the pride and character of a person, attention to detail etc.

While we're on his boots, I also quite like the Persian rug you can see in most of his videos. The guy's sharp.

Also, is it too soon to derail the thread by saying how much I can't stand that Tone King guy?

No and I can't stand him either.

"I have something special for you today, as I always do"

THEN IT'S NOT FUCKING SPECIAL THEN, IS IT?!

And he's a pretty mediocre guitarist, predictably.

I always like his videos - informative and entertaining!

What's up with that soul patch/mohawk goatee thing though? :x
