93 MIJ Mustang question

Post by DGNR8 »

Which model is? The one I am selling looks new and clean, but according to all the serial sites, it was made in 1993-1994 time frame.

Here are pics at my Flickr account. I realized I don't actually know the details. I thought it was a 69 RI. Serial is Q001851 and it says MADE IN JAPAN not Crafted or hand-maded by Kurdtz.

Interesting. I have that same guitar (color too) but it's made in the 1994 - 1995 time frame and it doesn't have gold on the Fender logo. Love it to bits though, one of the most comfortable necks. I'm pretty sure it's a 69RI.

Their serial numbers are really strange. I bought a Jaguar Bass and according to the serial it was like a 97; it was purchased in 09.

edit

Just saw the MIJ. If that is the case, I'd be willing to bet it was made after 2000.

I boxed these things weeks ago. I may have to open her up. The orange one may be traveling in two pieces anyhow.

Nice guitars, I love mine... apparently they are a bit different to the 69RI's ... the much redder tort guard for a start.

its from 93-95

1996 models had a gold sticker on the back of the headstock for anniversary models.

they came in oly white and soinc blue with RED tort pickguards

the 69RI's from the 2000's came with BROWN tort pickguards.

also the 69RI is "vintage white" ie: puke white. not oly white.

pretty much anything that comes out of the Fender Japan factory is nice, but if it came from DGNR8, it's solid and a great deal, for sure.
