i tried those hardwire pedals at a little shop and didnt really like what I got out of them.

Big fan of the hardwire pedals, can't wait try one on these. If I had to pick a brand to make a whole board out of these would be it.

I really like my Hardwire Delay its a really good solid and great sounding pedal.

Has Digitech really taken their name off this brand? I remember when they first came out, they were Digitech Hardwire.

Is the stigma associated with the Digitech name really that bad? Ha ha.

Hardwire are their own brand, more than likely they used Digitech to advertise them sicne they are a big name company. Now that the line has proven it self I imagine they've jumped ship.

this sounds like you're implying that hardwire is a separate operation. I really don't think that's the case. they're just digitech's top of the line pedals.

and that is exactly why they have tried to remove any association with digitech. I don't know why they have such a bad rap though, quite a few digitech pedals are pretty good. the whammy, the digiverb and digidelay are good. plenty of people seem to recommend the bad monkey.

it's funny because I think originally digitech was created as a high-end line by DOD.

DOD stands for "Division of Digitech". . . I guess by that Digitech came first? i dont know, anyone know any clear history on this?

The whammy is a great pedal (like I said along with the space station imo) and they have very few more that get me going but Ive had so many problems with their stuff that I just dont want any more.
Bad Monkey- I see alot of folks talking big things about the bad monkey and also see these same players selling them off to buy something else. I think the Bad Monkey is a case of "its decent, but not good enough to stick around". Its yet another TS wanna-be but it doesnt cut it IMO

According to Wikipedia: DOD originally stood for David Oreste Di Francesco, who founded the company in 1974. He was the original engineer who later sold the company to Harman International. The engineer now runs a company called Rolls Corporation. DOD now stands for "Division of Digitech".

A quick bit of research shows Harman owns Digitech. Hahha, it's hilarious that they came up with a new acronym so they could keep the established brandname, haahha.

I had the Hardwire Reverb and although the pedal was good for a Â£120+ pedal to me it looked and felt cheaply made and not particularly solid. Plus I think they look ugly too, not that pedals need to look good but when you're paying that kind of cash a bit of attention paid to the design would be a bonus.

I do like the fact that they're made by a company called Harman International though as that's my surname.

I reckon you could get a far better tremolo pedal from a boutique type maker for much the same price as the Hardwire tremolo.

I kind of agree. Also I saw some clips and what I heard didn't really impress me. In the end I bought a Boss Tremolo which i'm going to get modded to add a volume control. The Boss pedal arrived today, I forgot that there's something about the design and layout of Boss pedals that I really like.

it's a pedal that can be picked up for less than the price of a crate of beer, i think they're good.

but then, i just want a cheap, sturdy, reliable transparent overdrive with a handy bass control to dirty up my clean tone a bit- i'm not after the SRV TONE BLUES TO THE STRATOSPHERE MAKE MY GUITAR REALLY SING. that, i suspect, is where the problem occurs for some.

Hell i've considered getting a bad monkey just for its simulated speaker out in case shit fucks up. Great pedal to have around
