MXR Phase 45 reissue

I saw a Pro Guitar Shop demo of this yesterday and think it sounds great, a nice subtle phase sound. I love my custom script Phase 90 but wish it was a bit more subtle sometimes. If this reissue Phase 45 had mains power and an LED I might of had to buy myself one.

No mains No LED = Low sales
What a stupid idea

I have an old/original MXR Micro Chorus from about 1980 & that can be mains powered & has an LED

I think they're trying to recreate the original 70's ones a bit too closely. They reissued the 70's Phase 90 with no mains and no LED and also brought out one with, hopefully they'll do the same with this one.

Just seems daft, oh well someone at Offset will prolly buy it as it's "vintage correct"

i loved the custom shop with led phase 90. sold it to thom in moment of stupidity. the 45 is quite subtle, works quite nice in front of your drive pedals, the effect is more pronounced. i've heard good things about the micro flanger reissue. there still about Â£69 new at hot rox.

It's hugely stupid that people see vintage correctness to the point of reduced useability as a plus.

Fucking hell, an LED and DC power don't effect the sound for fuck's sake.

i could see it with fuzzes, as some fuzzes like/sound better with a battery and it can be a pain to daisy chain some fuzzes.

but for modulation etc i'd want mains power and a led. less hassle.

See, much as I'm gradually being converted, I still get an illicit thrill from running some fuzzes from a battery (plus Im lazy and sometimes can't find my power supply) but: surely even a bionic battery in one of these would only last for half an hour or so - phasers eat batteries.

my phase 90 lasted quite a while on batteries though not as long as my tone-bender. that still has the original battery mike put in when he built it. why won't it die!!!

Some knobbers seem to think it does though, probably the same knobbers that think that putting a certain piece of wood under a distortion pedal gives it added tone.

Do batteries in tonebenders really last that long? Mine hasn't made it to my pedal board as I don't like changing batteries all the time and haven't got round to buying a seperate power supply for it - I think i'll bung the battery back in, stick it on my board and rock with it at practice tonight.

most fuzzes are fairly low power circuits me thinks. as long as you unplug it when not in use, i think it'll last a fair while.
