Give it some times, you'll see this being used by some "ironic" bands.

On a Toronado nonetheless.

Neat Idea .. but for use in a band setting I think it would be a bit distracting.

Something like this would have looked cool used in a band like Sigue Sigue Sputnik. Maybe Vernon Reid could've have pulled them off too, he was a colorful character.
I wonder how much they are? If they are cheap enough i might stick some on the green acrylic Mockingbird just for lulz, be cool to see if the light is enhanced with the acrylic.

Your fingers will glow all neon under a blacklight like when they do crime scene searches for body fluids. Well, they'll glow a little more now.

Bad news for people who wank furiously before a gig.

I can't see them being much more than the other DR coated strings. I use Black Beauties on my Aerodyne Jazz Bass, they're not much more than other strings and last a lot longer.

That said, I couldn't see installing these on any of my instruments.

No one here will. Because they are'nt cool, they are'nt vintage or teh reissue and no one uses them as of yet.
There is hope though, if people can buy Line 6 products here then anything can happen.

If they made this in fluorescent black maybe I'd buy them.

Like Doog said, its style over content, irrespective that they last longer. But you can apply this to most things round here, like peoples rigs and pedal boards for starters. Its all well and good but what fuck are you doing with all that gear?
I might put some of these on the 64 Jag

Has anyone here used their coated guitar strings?
The bass strings last longer, partially because of reduced wear... but playing with a pick quickly destroys the coating. Since most people play guitar with a pick, the coating would be destroyed pretty quick.

I get the style over content thing, but i don't really think there's something wrong with having tons of gear. If i had more money i'd probably have lots of stuff i wouldn't use. Even now i have some cheap pedals i like but don't use, i just like having them around for change things a bit every now and then.

I'd think that they'd be awfully distracting but I'd probably give them a go, if I got them for free.

Just so I could see what they look like when they're all vibrating and shit...

DR already did coloured strings. I haven't seen anyone using them yet.

I'd well rock white strings on my all white P bass.
