This may run me afoul of purists, but I thought I'd share my newly modified 65 re-issue. Stripped of switches, stripped of bridge pickup and with a SD Little 59 at the neck.

it will look cool when string up, but I never got the idea of 1 pup guitars when a guitar was meant to have to... (of course there are exceptions in LP jrs, etc....)

You won't find a lot of purists here.

Hasn't Rob done something similar with a Jag-stang?

I think it's really stupid. It looks cool, though.

I really only use the neck pickup on my guitars anyways . . .

But if the guitar has two pickups, why take one out? I just don't see an advantage to it and if even if you don't use it, it is nice to have it there on those just in case moments .

Either way, mustangs are RAD

Plenty of people have made a glorious racket with a one pickup guitar.

I have a mustang with 1 p-90. It's my main guitar.

LOVE the single PUP. There are no bridge PUPs in my place right now, actually.

Cutting out an option like another PUP make it feel more like you're playing an acoustic IMO. It makes you focus more on dynamics and technique.

It's still in the shop (because I'm afraid of soldering guns).

My other guitar is a Junior, which means I've covered the waterfront via two guitars: the Junior gives me a bridge single. The Mustang gives me a neck humbucker. Of course, both are easily combined in a single guitar, but there something about building a toolbox that I like.

Thanks for the replies. I like that there is a Jag-stang sibling out there.
