Uuuugh, that old dude drives me crazy with his playing.
Plus, he butchered a perfectly good Classic Player HH Jag

That's really weird. I took a look and they'll ship other Fender guitars, but no sign of the Blacktop...except for the banner stating that they're just released. That's some b.s. on their part. Did they give you a reason?

just said they couldn't ship them to canada but that the other guitar i was looking at would be fine.
i plan on calling them as opposed to using the web order form mid next week (my local shops are sold out atm.. mind you they only brought in one jaguar and one jazzmaster)

shipping to canada can be tricky, might be worth just having someone rebound it without the neck and just add one up here.

finboy: you can order them from www.axemusic.com (i loathe that company for several very personal reasons, and try to not deal with them myself) up here, i think they have a shop in calgary as well, mind you they don't list the jazzmaster on their site, and the warehouse is sold out.

still nothing on the Long & McQuade site.
i know at least on indie shop here in edmonton has them (avenue guitars) so i suspect that someone in calgary should have them as well.

Holy crap, the Jazzmaster gets my approval. Bigger frets? Humbucker in the bridge? I wonder how the neck would look with a "tree of life" inlay...

Out of all the blacktop series the jazzy is my fave and at 400 to 500 dollars that's awesome I wish I waited before I bought my jag hh.

I played the strat and tele today

They just felt and sounded cheap to me and the tuning machines suck real bad

Maybe the jag is better, but I haven't got my hopes up

Classic Player series is still the better fare I think

i tried out the jag the other day, neck is wonderful, good balance, tuning pegs worked well but would prefer vintage style, was not a fan of the hard tail, but for the price still cheap enough to mod to a trem system.

main issue, i did not like the pickups at all, they actually made me want to never play one again.

they don't have a jazzmaster in stock yet, but i'll report back once they do.

I wonder what the holdup is on getting the Jazzmasters into stores? Obviously some have made it because a guy here was able to buy one, but Sweetwater has no ETA on them and Guitar Center doesn't have them in any of their stores (checked stock on their website--for all stores). I don't understand why Fender would announce something so far in advance and not have any in the stores. I want my friggin' Jazzmaster!

Andy sells this tele for me. Pickups sound nice and glassy.

Here's another one from Fender:

I am off tomorrow and I might try to go find one to demo.

I subscribe to PGS on Youtube... I wasn't too impressed with the Blacktop Telecaster demo. Doesn't seem like a particularly nice guitar. The JM/Jag demos posted earlier seemed ok though.

I have had my BT JM for about a month now and I have decided I do not like the HB in the bridge, it is almost all mid-range....not good clean, tonight I am trading a pedal I built for a Duncan JB, I will see how that sounds, If I do not like that then I may try a humbucker size P90

Someone needs to demo the BT Jag or Jazzmaster with some dirt. All the demos so far just clean.

I do like on the Strat and tele they make both models with rosewood and maple fingerboards.

I have been wanting to do a demo of the JM but my buddy with a studio is in rehab for 3 more weeks, good for him, bad for a demo

The tele looks tits, I may need to shift some gear pretty soon.
