Long-term project (I've no time at the moment) but I wanna build myself a Shin-Ei fuzz wah clone as the originals are teh expensive. There's a switch for the fuzz effect (it's the FY-6 Superfuzz circuit) and one under the footpad for the wah effect. Do any reissue wahs have this layout? I need to grab myself an enclosure to gut and reuse. Suggestions please.
I think the Dunlop Mister Crybaby has a switch which turns it from wah to volume mode. It may be on the side though rather than the top so may not be suitable for you. Don't know what kind of system it uses to make the 'wah' sound, it might be a pot rather than a switch so again may not be suitable.
Digitech Whammy has a pot at the side but again not sure what makes the treadle work, but this would probably be a touch expensive.
Cool, but nothing that's easily modded to add another switch. Plus I think those might be too good to gut!
I've found that the Ibanez/random import make Wau Wau fuzz wah is 90% of a superfuzz wah. Could even be possible to make the fuzz switchable between the superfuzz and Ibanez standard fuzz circuits.
The Morley is the only (cheapish) one I can think of: what about having the switch in a little breakout box connected by a short wire coming from the side of the pedal? That way you could use a regular wah enclosure. And are you sure you don't want to put a Roland Double Beat in there instead of a Superfuzz (please)?
re Fuzz wah, yeah I definately think the Ibanez Wau Wau is the way to go one this. Seem to end about £100, which would save so much construction hassle.
What's the difference in circuit between the ibanez standard fuzz and the superfuzz?
Because I've got both an unbranded WauWau and a Univox Superfuzz (late grey one) and they're nearly identical. At a pinch I'd say the superfuzz has a bit more gain, and maybe a less prominant octave effect.

Ah ha that's cheap. Shit shit shit! I thought I was being clever putting ALL my money in savings this month. Now I realise I was being incredibly stupid.
Quite a few of the Snarling Dogs wah-style pedals have 2 footswitches plus a BIG WACKY FOOT! Maybe you could a broken one, otherwise they'd be a lil too pricey, I feel:
