I get these models mixed up, is'nt the deluxe the MIM one with scratchplate and chrome pickups? If so quite a few people here have owned one and some still do.
Nice guitar, definitely more Fenderish than the GT model if thats what you want. I had a white one.

Yep, Deluxe is the original MIM. IMO the pickups left something to be desired but I love the look and feel of them. I'd like to have one.

I've had mine for a few months now and like it pretty well. I'm still not crazy about the Fender "Atomic" humbuckers that are in it, but they get the job done for now. They seem to have a mid range "honk" sound to them as compared to my other HB guitar(s). I've had it sat up with the Ernie Ball "Not Even Slinky" set and drop tuned since I bought it. I'm going to give it a chance in standard tuning/10s for awhile before I go changing things.

I do agree that the neck is a bit chunky, perhaps just slightly bigger than most MIM necks.

Over all the Toro is a cool package, I just don't know if I've bonded to mine yet or not.

I own a deluxe . Great guitar . Mine came with p-90 Phat Cats but am ripping them out to put in stock Atomics to bring it back to its former glory . To me it's kinda like having a Les Paul but one that cross bred with a Jazzmaster . However you can't explain the Duo Sonic bridge which makes the Toro a bit of a mongrel . I like mine . If I find another out there for a decent price I'll prolly get another . An American one preferably which is a bit different .
