Has anyone ever tried the loops or jampacks? How about adding sounds to the liberry?
I don't care if it sounds shaky, it's as close to completing anything as I have ever been. I figure I can flesh out songs, give them a CC license, and let people have fun with them.
I've used the drums loops a bit, some of them aren't to bad, though it's hard to find a good straight-up beat. As for rest some of them are good, I got a cool synth sound before. I haven't tried adding loops in, Jampacks, they are called. Like 20$ each? Dunno if it's worth it - pirate?

Thanks for the inputs. I would loves to be able to fabricate new sound samples for GB, but that's where it starts getting hairy/technical. I guess I could learn the banjo instead.
I just either record my drum machine or use the drum machine with the midi input to trigger the garageband samples. then you can go in an edit them more after the fact. I think there is way to fuck with the samples and put in your own as well. I dunno, I just have the extremely basic Garageband 1.0 .
I always thought it would be really cool to like record a bunch of samples of you banging on dishes and making everyday sounds and then use the drum machine to trigger it.
The drum loops actually sound pretty good. I've got a friend who does a lot of metal/post-hardcore recordings and he's using the metal drum pack from GarageBand and his tracks sound almost pro level, and he's not using the most high end of gear or recording in the most ideal room (a dorm room).
torrent some betamonkey drumloops, it's limited (tempos don't adjust so you'll be stuck with a shitload of loops in tempos you don't need and only a fe wloops in a tempo you need..)but still offers enough basic beats to mess around with cut and paste to make it sound close to the real deal.
