it's a behringer reverb machine. i'm good with behringer, however, i only want this one sound, as i have plenty of other reverb options.

Thats the cheapest "shimmer" effect you'll find.
Strymon's Blue Sky, Timefactor, Super Delay, PS-3, Verbzilla, they'll all do this sort of effect in their own special way but your best bet is sticking the Behringer in a bypass loop [the one i tried had a bad bypass bleed] and call it gravy

Theres a lot of good cheap true bypass loopers out there. Personally I'd recommend Dan at This1smine or our own famous Mike. Give it a go and don't bother with a looper if you don't have issues with the bypass

What does that mean? I've used this pedal for a couple of years. Bypass is completely fine (with trails off).

Same, nor does mine have the often reported volume drop.

The n00b has become the master...
Yep, I had one too and loved it - a lot of people rate the Behringer's take on that sound more than the Verbzilla. And no bypass problems with the trails switched off.

I did intend to replace it after a month or two, purely out of snobbishness, but really there's nothing to fault the Behringer.

Ok, ok, ok...
So will the Behringer achieve this by itself or does it require to be in a bypass loop to do this?

It will do what it does. I was only saying the one I played in a shop had the effected signal still present when bypassed. I didn't mess with the tails switch at all though. Good pedal for the money, go for it!
