I quite like the aesthetic, it even makes the Jag-Stang look elegant. But all that other nonsense and the price... nah. Its like 1982 again when various Japanese companies were fitting as much circuitry onto guitars as they could, it did not take off then and it wont now. A lot of guitar players (excluding the gearheads) don't have a clue nor care about their equipment, they don't even recognize the tone knob so all this stuff will just scare them.
Someone like The Edge might make use of this.

Why is it called a FireBird... Fucking hell. The original firebird before it became reverse was so cool. This is a ugly mutant mess, awful paintjob. WHY NO PICKGUARD"?! WHY 5000 dollars?! Now even perfect tone seeking guitar snobs who will only play pre-cbs strats and 50s LPs can't afford this shit. SO DUMB

I don't understand why if they're going to make something like this why they would make the guitar look so fucking weird and ugly on top of making something that not very man people will be interested in buying as it is. It's almost like they're trying NOT to sell these... you'd think if they wanted it to actually appeal to more people that they'd put it in a normal looking SG or LP or something.

i think part of Gibson's bidness plan, is that they can probably sell 10 of these to lame rich people, and make 50k, or sell 100 five-hundred dollar guitars to make the same amount.

assuming that the profit margin is the same. I'm thinking it would be a bit less on the $500 guitar.
