Iceman

Post by Viljami »

Anyone else have mad, passionate love for the King of Ibanez? Bass included! (because Imma get one). Experiences? HEAVY PICS.

Plus my friend promised me that if I get the Iceman, he'll get a Maverick to go with it. Then we can be like each others wingmen anytime.

Inscho (occasionally of this parish) was obsessed with them a couple of years back; he's seldom on here nowadays though - maybe shoot him a PM?

I like weird shaped guitars/basses. This one falls in that category. Want the bass with EMGs though, and maybe a three-way switch?

I’ve been a fan of the Iceman since I went to see Jesus Jones (remember them pop pickers) at the Barras and Mike Edwards set the place on fire with an Iceman...

I really like the 1970s models, not too much into the nu metal monstrosities.

I've liked them ever since I first saw them back in the 90's.

I actually really like System of a Down, especially up to and including Steal This Album. I also kind of like how Icemans (Icemans? Icemen?) look, although I can't imagine myself playing one. The SOAD albums where Daron Malakian mainly plays an Iceman (Toxicity and Steal This Album I think) have some amazing guitar sounds. IIRC he played a Strat on most of the first album and an SG on most of the last two. I did also hear he sometimes uses a Jazzmaster which is pretty cool.

I'm with freddy. Icemen(?) have a certain charm to them.

I'm with these guys, I used to love SOAD and they really got me into guitar. I have always loved the look of an Iceman and if I ever want to play metal again I would probably buy one.

There are only two guitar designs that aren’t derived / stolen from Fender or Gibson that I rate: the Iceman and the BC Rich Mockingbird. But I’m not metal enough to own either...
